Overview:

Manatt's needed a faster setup time on conveying system used for recycling asphalt. Their old way was setting the hopper inside two bunkered walls, then setting a conveyor out of the bottom of the hopper and installing support legs on the hopper. Setup time was slow and labor intensive.

Design Specifications:

• Layout and design a portable in-feed conveyor for recycled asphalt off roadways which they were repaving.
• Needed to be able to unload center dump semi hoppers and dump trucks into common hopper.
• Needed to be able to vary the amount of product coming off the conveyor because it was feeding a crusher, we accomplished this by a rack and pinion slide gate which could be controlled from upper dumping area.
• Needed to be easily portable, we accomplished this by designing retractable axles powered by a portable hydraulic unit
